In addition to wide expanses of sand, the natural bay of Methoni and that of Nea Agathoupoli also provide abundant shade-giving vegetation, quiet and a scenic landscape. Characteristic of the area are the gentle hills surrounding the sandy coastline.

Very close to Makrigialos, situated among verdant seaside hills, the visitor in search of a picturesque location should take time to discover the golden sands of Agios Giannis.

The next beach, Pydna, is also golden. Little will you expect that very close to the sands lie the ruins of a Byzantine fort, ready and waiting to be explored.

At Plaka Litochoro the visitor will come across alternating natural bays where the classic landscape of golden sand is interspersed by rocks and pebbles.

Leptokarya, a traditional holiday location, stretches out close to the site of the mythical Orphea.
